The capital city of Vilnius is the grandest and most vibrant of the three capitals in the Baltic States. Once upon time it was the centre of Jewish Culture, and there were 120 synagogues in Vilnius and surroundings alone. Its old Jewish quarter is very atmospheric and further afield, Trakaj Castle and the Hill of Crosses at Siauliai are both a must-see….
